Kerosene (Rough Draft)
Spring seems to be the season of freedom,
Alone I’m at home; When I’m with you, I’m freezing.
The remnants of winter,
They follow you into my world.
Hidden in the unseen is a kerosene lantern,
that’s lit for a bit, but the darkness runs after
A blind optimistic,
mistaking herself for my girl.
Delusion, you’re losing your mind..
You’re confused if you think you’d be mine,
I’m content as a friend, but now let’s not pretend
that that’s all you want.
Seeking with effort for a middle ground,
Something less than platonic, nothing more than a frown
But you don’t, you won’t..
Accept it for what it is.
Now I’m looking ahead, tryna see past the faults,
But the one who knows me best is someone I don’t know at all
It’s just difficult to..

I love Misfits. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a show, lol. But really though, it seems to be influenced by a whole bunch of cool things - Heroes. Breakfast Club. In a recent episode, The Walking Dead. It also has the same type of funny romance found in How I Met Your Mother - I literally ship every possible pairing.
But, it’s quite upsetting that my favorite character’s storyline is over. Along with his girlfriend. And who doesn’t miss Nathan? I just feel like they should’ve kept the original 5 throughout all the seasons.
3 notesNote to self: If ever I really get into songwriting, I need to make sure that my lyrics hold true say, a year from writing them. Otherwise I’d be sitting on an EP filled with short-lived truths and untrue words.
